Shipping policy
Order Fulfillment
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location, and possibly the weight of the package (I'm working on it).
In-Stock items ship within the same week.
Made-To-Order toys are typically poured within 1–2 weeks of ordering, then shipped once cured. Fulfillment times may vary depending on current workload. Once your order ships, you will receive an email with tracking information.
Discreet Packaging
All orders ship in plain, unmarked brown boxes. The sender name on the shipping label reads "DIT" — not our full business name, and no prying eyes should be able to figure anything out from it too. Your credit card statement will also show "DIT." See our FAQ for full details on our packaging practices.
Undeliverable or Returned Packages
For Domestic Orders (Canada Orders):
If a package is returned to us — due to an incorrect address, a failed delivery attempt or any other reason outside of our control — we will contact you to discuss next steps. Reshipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
For International Orders:
If a package is not delivered due to an incorrect address input by the customer, multiple failed delivery attempts, refusal at customs, refusal to pay any applicable duties/taxes/tariffs due by the customer, or literally any other reason outside of Desert Island Toys' control, then unfortunately the package is likely lost, and no refunds will be offered.
Maybe it's because I'm a one-man small business, and haven't quite figured out how yet to do it cheaply, but when packages get shipped internationally and then not delivered, getting them back is too expensive.
For All Orders:
Please double-check your name and shipping address before completing your order. Desert Island Toys is not responsible for packages that cannot be delivered due to inaccurate information provided at checkout.
Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Packages
Once an order has shipped, Desert Island Toys only has access to the same tracking information as the customer, and is not responsible for issues during shipment, including but not limited to:
Loss in transit — the customer is responsible for filing a claim with the carrier
Damage in transit — the customer is responsible for filing a claim with the carrier
Theft — the customer is responsible for filing a claim with the carrier
Gaps in tracking information
Delays once the package is in the carrier's hands
International Orders
International customers assume full responsibility for paying all applicable taxes, fees, duties, VAT, or other import/customs charges. Desert Island Toys is not responsible for packages refused or abandoned due to unpaid import fees, and refunds will not be issued in these cases.
Customs declarations:
Our toys are declared as "Silicone Sculpture."
We file customs declarations electronically wherever possible, so no paper copy of the customs declaration is attached to the outside of the box — though some countries' customs processes may add their own documentation, which is outside of our control.
We will always accurately represent the value of shipped goods — we will never misrepresent value or falsely declare items as gifts.
The customer's full legal name and accurate shipping address are required for international shipments.
Please be aware that adult toys are considered prohibited or restricted items in some countries. Due to local importation laws, we are unable to ship to the following destinations:
India
Maldives
Malaysia
Thailand
Vietnam
Saudi Arabia
United Arab Emirates
