Shipping Policy

Ready to ship in: 5 - 7 business days

Ships out using: ChitChats (ChitChats uses USPS for USA, CanadaPost for Canada, USPS/Asendia for International), or Canada Post directly

Delivery times: Depends on the destination. I will provide the buyer a tracking code once shipped.

Return days: Due to the nature of our products, returns are not accepted. However, if you have any problems with your order please contact me immediately, and I will do everything I can to ensure that your issue is resolved to your complete satisfaction.

SAFETY

Your safety is our primary concern. Our platinum cure silicone products are body-safe, phthalate-free, latex-free, and hypo-allergenic.  We source our mica (used for colour) only from suppliers who do not use child labour in their supply chain, and always use only cosmetic-grade mica (lip and eye-safe).

SHIPPING

Our products are made in Canada, and ship from here too.
Buyer may be responsible for taxes and duties levied by their home country which the seller has no control over.
If your country doesn't appear as one we can ship to yet, drop me an email and we'll see what we can do to change that (it's purely a function of having to first figure out what the shipping charges would be and then setting that up - for some countries like Germany for example we would have to look into getting set up with LUCID registration, which we'll happily do for our first order there, although that will add some delay).

We ship packages with tracking. The buyer is responsible for the security of their package once it is delivered by the courier.

Adult toys are not permitted to be shipped/sold in some countries.  The buyer is responsible for knowing if this applies to their country and if so, for not placing an order.

We reserve the right to cancel any order for any reason at our discretion, providing a full refund.

DISCREET PACKAGING

Our products are shipped sealed in a reusable bag in either a nondescript cardboard box or bubble mailer.  We do our best to ensure discreet packaging - the return sender field on your package will be "DIT" to prevent others from guessing what is in the package. There will be no company logo on the outside packaging.

For international shipments a customs form must be included on the box detailing what is inside, but we will be as generic as possible describing the item as "Massage apparatus, manual."

If packaging discretion is a particular concern for you, please reach out to us after placing your order and we can discuss options.

Order Cancellation

We may entertain cancelling an order if we have not already started fulfilling it, but it is at our sole discretion.  Once an order has been shipped, obviously cancellation will not be possible.  Packages which are refused by the buyer incur extra costs to us, and thus no refund will be offered.

FAQs

Can I return or exchange products?
No.
For everyone's safety we do not accept returns or exchanges of toys, even if it appears to be still sealed in its original packaging. The only exception to this is if the postal service returns the toy to us as undeliverable for some reason, and thus the packaging was never opened.  If such a toy is ever relisted for sale per this exception, it will be explicitly listed as such at the top of that item's description in the shop.

What happens if my package arrives damaged?
If the toy inside is undamaged then no further action is required - enjoy your toy.
If however the toy appears to have been damaged in transport please get in touch with us.  We will need you to take clear photos of the damaged packaging (how it arrived to you) and the damaged contents.  From there, depending on the courier, either you or us will file a damages claim with the courier (which is why the photos are needed).
Please keep all the packaging materials in case the courier insists on inspecting them until the claim is settled.

Do you do custom/made to order toys?
While we reserve the right not to offer custom made toys, let's talk and see if we can work something out.  We can't guarantee a custom toy is going to come out exactly as desired, but of course we will do our best to try.  That said, unless we've missed the mark entirely, subjective opinions about an item's colour are not considered refund or discount worthy.

What if a toy's colours are not what I expected?
We can not guarantee that a person's perception and our photos will be a 100% match - different computer monitors can render colours differently depending on how they were set up.

We take the best photos we can to give buyers a general idea of a toy's colours and overall condition, but they are not a guarantee of absolute accuracy, as we're not professional photographers.  Often times toys look better in person than they do in pictures.

What is a "Flop" toy?
Here at Desert Island Toys we pride ourselves on attention to detail.  While we aim for perfection when making toys, due to the sometimes unpredictable nature of silicone as an artistic medium, we don't always meet our own high-standard. 

A flop/flopped toy is a toy which for one reason or another simply didn't live up to our highest standard.  It's still safe to use - we won't sell any toy which isn't.  We will clearly label the toy as a flop, show why with pictures, and apply a discount to its price in proportion to what we think is fair based on the unique defect.

Will you send me additional pictures of a toy?
Unfortunately we can't offer this.  As part of our process, we take pictures of toys right after they're made, then wash and dry them and immediately seal them in a bag (to keep them clean).  We always aim to include multiple pictures from different angles of each toy to aid buyers in their decision making.

Do you have pets? Are there other allergens in your shop that I should know about?
We do have 2 cats and a golden retriever dog.  The pets are always discouraged from being in our workspace, but that doesn't stop dust/dander from floating in.  We make these toys in a regular home-workshop type of environment.

We are not responsible for any medical issues or emergencies that may arise from the purchase and use of our products. We strive to keep our work surfaces clean, but this is not a medical facility, nor are these medical devices. We are not qualified physicians, cannot instruct customers on safety precautions, and cannot advise them on whether or not to purchase. It is up to you to assess your own level of risk and purchase accordingly, keeping in mind that it is possible to sterilize silicone toys in boiling water.

Remember that these are adult novelty devices only, not medical devices, and no medical claims are being expressed or should be inferred by anything in our shop.
